Soy dessert packaging and posters for Soyalah

The brief

A dessert shop selling tau fu fah, soy drinks and gelato for dine-in, takeaway and delivery needs packaging that looks good in a customer’s hand and in a photo, plus printed promotions for festive seasons and new products.

What we designed

The project images show three names: Soyalah, Bean Jr. (also written Bean Junior, with its Chinese name) and Soy Gelato.

The Soyalah bowls are white with a bold yellow square label. The logo sets the name in chunky brown capitals over a white speech-bubble shape, with the social handle underneath.

The Bean Jr. pieces are built around a hand-drawn soybean character with a two-leaf sprout. It appears on cream printed bowls, on the Durian Taufufah cup labels with tick boxes for D24 and Musang King, and on purple food boxes. The kraft takeaway bag drops the mascot and runs the name in very large purple type across the front, so it reads from across a room.

Soy Gelato uses plain white cups and paper cone sleeves with a green leaf mark and the line “Happiness in a cup”. One cup carries a simple drawn face.

For Christmas, the mascot wears a Santa hat and reindeer antlers on purple cups and on a carry box with a handle. The posters follow the same voice: a green Ramadan Special poster for onde-onde desserts, a cream and purple Group Order poster with delivery terms and branch phone numbers, and a yellow and blue Soy Gelato poster announcing a new vegan formula.
